Product overview

A tutor for learners. Evidence for the people who teach them.

One platform: an AI tutor that teaches from your own materials, controls for teachers, and analytics that show what every learner understood.

  1. Water moves from where there is more salt to where there is less.
  2. When you say “more salt”, what is there less of in that same solution?
  3. Less water… so the water goes the other way?
  4. What would you need to see in an experiment to be sure of that?

The platform

Four parts, one system

The Nested Learning platform has four parts: the AI tutor, teacher controls, learning analytics and organisation settings. All four share one record of each session.

  • For learners

    The AI tutor

Learners talk or type to a tutor that teaches from their course materials. It uses one of eight named teaching methods, asks rather than tells, and is built not to write assessed work.

    • Eight learning modes
    • Voice input and read-aloud
    • Replies in 13 languages
    Learning modes
  • For teachers

    Teacher controls

Teachers choose the rulebook the tutor teaches from and the learning mode it uses. The choice applies to every learner in their organisation.

    • Upload course materials as rulebooks
    • Choose the learning mode
    • Session summaries by email
    Rulebooks
  • For leaders

    Learning analytics

Every turn of every session is scored for confidence, sentiment, originality and the concepts covered, so leaders see understanding, not just usage.

    • Scores for every turn
    • A summary of every session
    • Trends across sessions
    Learning analytics
  • For administrators

    Organisation settings

Each organisation has its own settings and its own data. We set them up with you before a pilot starts.

    • Which learning modes are switched on
    • The language the tutor replies in
    • Who receives safeguarding alerts and session summaries

How a session works

One session, from question to teacher summary

A learner asks, the tutor questions back, each turn is scored, and the teacher receives a summary when the session ends.

  1. A learner asks a question

They ask in their own words, by typing or speaking, about the course their teacher has set.

  2. The tutor asks back

In Socratic Partner mode the tutor never gives the answer. It asks one focused question at a time.

  3. A misconception is caught

The tutor notices the learner has the direction of movement wrong, and probes it rather than correcting it.

  4. Analytics update, turn by turn

Each turn is scored for confidence, originality and concepts, so teachers see understanding, not clicks.

  5. The teacher gets a summary

When the session ends, the teacher receives a short summary: what was covered, what went well and what to do next.

Where learners find it

Two ways in

Learners reach the tutor inside your virtual learning environment or on the Nested Learning tutor site. Both use the same tutor, settings and analytics.

  • Inside your virtual learning environment

A SCORM package puts the tutor on your existing course pages, so learners use it where they already study.

  • On the Nested Learning tutor site

Learners sign in to the tutor on the web, on a computer or phone. Teachers use the same sign-in.

Research

Teachers stay in charge

The platform is built so teachers choose what the tutor teaches and how, and see what learners did. Recent research on AI in classrooms points the same way. It is a study of AI in education in general, not of Nested Learning.

Different lenses on human-AI collaboration: towards a comprehensive view on hybrid intelligence in education

Horvers, Molenaar, Snoeijen, Costache, van der Graaf, Kramer, de Mooij, Topali, Vermeire and Sleegers (2026). Behaviour & Information Technology (published online 7 October 2026)

AI took over bounded analytical tasks, while teachers interpreted, checked and acted on what it produced. The authors conclude AI may redistribute tasks between teachers and AI “without displacing teachers' pedagogical judgement”.

What it does not show: Four cases, analysed qualitatively; it does not measure learning outcomes or study Nested Learning.

Questions

Questions about the platform

What does the Nested Learning platform include?

It has four parts: an AI tutor for learners, controls for teachers, learning analytics for leaders, and separate settings for each organisation. The tutor teaches from the organisation's own course materials, and every session feeds the analytics.

Can teachers control what the AI tutor teaches?

Yes. Teachers choose the rulebook the tutor teaches from, which is their own uploaded course material, and the learning mode it uses. The choice applies to every learner in their organisation.

How do learners get to the AI tutor?

Learners use it inside your virtual learning environment, through a SCORM package on your course pages, or by signing in on the Nested Learning tutor site. Both routes use the same tutor, settings and analytics.

What does a teacher receive after a tutoring session?

A short session summary by email: the main topics, the learner's strengths, their difficulties and suggested next steps. The analytics also score every turn for confidence, sentiment, originality and concepts.

Who sets up the tutor for an organisation?

Nested Learning sets it up with you before a pilot starts: which learning modes are switched on, the language the tutor replies in, and who receives safeguarding alerts and session summaries. Each organisation's settings and data are kept separate.

Can I try the AI tutor before a pilot?

Not on this website yet. A version you can try in your browser is being built. Until then, book a call and we will show you the tutor working on material like yours.

How would this work for my apprentices?

Good question to start with. Which part of their standard do they find hardest to practise outside work?
